About Heaton Park
Heaton Park is one of the largest municipal parks in Europe, covering 250 hectares (600 acres) in North Manchester. The park centers on Heaton Hall, a Grade I listed 18th-century neoclassical country house designed by James Wyatt. Facilities include a boating lake, animal farm, bowling greens, an 18-hole golf course, ornamental gardens, a domed observatory, and a restored tramway with vintage trams. The park hosts major events including Parklife Festival, one of the UK's largest music festivals. On clear days, views extend to the Peak District and Welsh hills. The park is easily reached via the Heaton Park Metrolink station.
