About Park Güell

Park Güell is a public park designed by Antoni Gaudí between 1900 and 1914, originally commissioned as a garden city by entrepreneur Eusebi Güell. The Monumental Zone features the famous mosaic salamander (El Drac), the Hypostyle Hall with 86 Doric columns, and the serpentine bench terrace designed by Josep Maria Jujol offering panoramic views of Barcelona and the Mediterranean. The park blends nature with architecture in Gaudí's unmistakable organic style, using trencadís (broken ceramic mosaics) extensively. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the park sits on Carmel Hill and includes both ticketed and free zones with Mediterranean gardens.
